The crafting recipe for the Void jar, as shown in the Thaumonomicon.

The Void jar is a research option found under the Alchemy tab that becomes available for research after researching Essentia Distillation, along with an item and block capable of storing liquid Essentia. Although it is capable of holding no more Essentia than the normal Warded Jar, it has the unique property of being able to vent excess Essentia that is being put into it. However, this comes with 3 drawbacks. The first of which being that this vented Essentia is sometimes turned into Flux, albeit, and luckily, rarely. Secondly, they emit only half the suction of normal Warded Jars. Thirdly, they are an entire separate object from Warded Jars and as so must be created, although a Warded Jar is used in its construction. They can be created at an Arcane Workbench with 1 obsidian in the top middle section, a Warded Jar in the center, and 1 blaze powder in the bottom middle section, along with 25 Aqua and Perditio Essentia. The Void jar is extremely useful, if not slightly wasteful, being able to vent off excess Essentia that one might accumulate, such as Bestia or Metallum Essentia if one is trying to obtain Preamunio Essentia, for example. However, as both of these can be broken down with an Alchemical Centrifuge, this is considered a poor idea unless one is simply out of storage or lacks an Alchemical Centrifuge. Regardless of this, however, it is great for getting rid of excess Essentia with little to no negative impact on the Aura, as opposed to directly emptying Jars into the Aura or destroying excess Jars of Essentia.
