Ores is an inherently unlocked research found under the Basic Information tab. It details the new ores able to be found throughout the world. Vis Crystals/Shards are included in this, however, they have been given their own page which can be visited by clicking the link carrying the same name. The other ores that are added are Cinnabar ore and Amber Bearing Stone.
Amber Bearing Stone
Amber Bearing Stone is a type of ore added that drops between 1 and 2 pieces of Amber after being mined, but this is affected by the fortune enchantment and can drop up to 5 pieces per ore. Amber can be fashioned into blocks, and both the block and individual Amber pieces have uses in Thaumaturgy, and are also a good source of the aspects of Vinculum and Vitreous. It can be found at nearly any elevation above, but not including, 47.
Cinnabar Ore
Cinnabar ore is a type of ore added that drops itself after being mined. Cinnabar ore can then be smelted for a single piece of Quicksilver. Quicksilver cannot be fashioned into blocks, but it can be broken into drops, which are used in the creation of Essentia Tubes. Quicksilver is also a good source of Permutatio, which is relatively rare. Other than this, it has but a few uses in Thaumaturgy. It can be found at elevations of below 50.
